ASSEMBLIES
Assemblies are offered to all grades on various topics giving the children well rounded experiences. They are spread out throughout the year. In the past, we have hosted assemblies from the "Do Good. Be Kind." crew, a BMX show, magic shows, Science Shows, and much much more.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
A friendly competition amongst 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students all about books! Children receive a list of books before summer break and they are asked to read some (not all) of the books until the competition begins. The students meet a few weeks before the competition to prepare and divide into teams so that they have a broad knowledge base of most of the books on the list. The PTA helps to make sure there are copies of the books in the school library for all to read!  Click on the links below to download a pdf version of the list.

“Staying Healthy One Step at a Time!”

The PTA is thrilled to offer this program to Lincoln students in grades 1-5. Run Club will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:50 am to 8:08am on the primary playground. Volunteers will encourage students and track their laps.  Students earn fun awards based on their laps completed. Feeling great, special incentives, and making friends along the way are just a few of the great aspects of joining the Lincoln Run Club!

HANDS ON ART
More than 9,000 students in the South Bay benefit from Hands on Art, a nonprofit organization dedicated to continuing art education in our schools. Volunteer docents attend six workshops per school year, learning projects based on individual artists or styles of art and then teach the children in the classrooms step by step. Hands on Art encourages creative expression. Children have the freedom to touch, handle and experiment with art materials and various artistic techniques.

REFLECTIONS ART COMPETITION
National PTA's Reflections welcomes students of all grades and artistic abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Encourage your child to be one of the thousands of students who will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories:

  • Dance/choreography
  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Film production
  • Music composition
  • Visual arts.

Artwork creations are submitted first to school-level PTAs, where they are first recognized, celebrated, and judged by five grade-level divisions. A non-judged Special Artists division celebrates student artists with special needs. School PTAs then choose a selection of entries to be judged by local PTA units, which are then sent on to councils and then districts for consideration. The final artwork submissions are forwarded to California State PTA by districts are then considered for Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Award of Excellence entries then go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round. Check out this link for some helpful information. CAPTA Reflections website

Lincoln Elementary PTA  provides an annual Movie Night for the entire community!  The Lincoln students vote on which movie to see, which is revealed at the event.  Families bring blankets, chairs, and whatever else they need to get cozy for watching a movie with their fellow Lions.
