Welcome to Mrs. Chao's Kindergarten

My name is Margie Chao and I have been teaching Kindergarten at Lincoln School for the last 19 years.  Before that, I taught 5 years of Kindergarten in the Ocean View School District.  I have a B.A in Psychology from UC Riverside and a M.A. in Education from Pepperdine.

 

On a personal note, I am a busy mom of three boys ages 16, 13, and 10 and we live in South Torrance. This year, I will have one child at the elementary, middle, and high schools!  Although I am a busy mom,  I enjoy being active and do my best to live a healthy lifestyle.  In my free time, I enjoy watching my boys play baseball, cheering on the Dodgers, going to the nearby beaches, running trails, swimming, and spending time with my family.  We recently got a new puppy,  CoCo (named after my boys' favorite Dodgers).  She is a joy to have in our family!  

 

I love teaching kindergarten and enjoy helping the little ones blossom into life long learners.  My classroom management style is structured, but loving and I have found that this combination works!  Nothing makes me more proud than seeing how much the kindergartners have grown throughout the year!  It is really impressive and I am always so proud of each and everyone of my students!
