Welcome to Room 3
Hi! I'm Shannon Dominelli, and I'm so excited to welcome you to our TK classroom!
This is my 14th year teaching at Lincoln Elementary and my 21st year as an educator. I am beginning my second year teaching Transitional Kindergarten at Lincoln after spending 12 wonderful years teaching second grade. Before joining Lincoln, I taught Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Fourth Grade, and Reading Intervention in both the Huntington Beach and Newport Beach school districts.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. I also received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD authorization from CSULB and later earned my GATE certification through the University of California, Irvine. In 2023, I obtained my Early Childhood Permit through the University of California, Santa Barbara, and in 2026 I became CPI certified through Redondo Beach Unified School District. Throughout my career, I have continued to expand my knowledge by participating in professional development in Autism, ADHD, CGI Math, Daily 5, MindUP, Differentiated Instruction, GLAD, Thinking Maps, Reader's Workshop, GATE education, and educational technology, including attending the Google Summit twice.
I live in Huntington Beach with my husband, Ian, who is a high school teacher and surf coach, our two sons, Aiden (18) and Curren (15), and our two dogs, Leia (Labrador)and Tater (Pug). In my free time, I enjoy cheering on the LA Chargers and volunteering with Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue.
As a child, I absolutely loved school because of the incredible teachers who inspired me every day. My hope is that every student who enters our classroom feels excited, supported, and loved, and develops that same joy for learning. Teaching isn't just my career—it's my passion. I can't wait to partner with your family and make this a wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun!
