Welcome to Room 24
Hello! My name is Jirika Peterson and I am the kindergarten, 4th, and 5th grade Learning Center teacher. The Lincoln Learning Center delivers intervention services to identified students who receive special education services and students who are considered academically "at risk." The primary focus of the Learning Center is to provide interventions with a focus on intensive reading and math instruction to target a student's progress and level of functioning, enabling greater access to the core curriculum.
I received my undergraduate degree in both Economics and History at Claremont McKenna College. I then went on to get my master's degree and credential in Special Education from National University. I began my teaching career in Los Angeles where I taught a Special Day Class for 4 years. In 2007, I was honored to be hired as a Learning Center teacher in Redondo Beach!
